Richard Montero upon being discharged from Combat Intelligence in the United States Marine
Corps in 1957 went into the investigative field starting out
in south Florida, and in 1959 worked for the Burns Detective Agency in NYC.
He went back down to south Florida and started doing security work in Miami Beach in Coral Gables for
high profile clients.
In 1964, he created a consultant
and advisory firm to be known as Montero & Associates and moved into his Coral Gables office in 1970 and has been
there ever since.
In 1969 he turned his heritage and passion
into a business with Many Moons Native American Art & Artifacts in
Coral
Gables and New York City .
In 1974 he used his investigative background
to start Montero, The Source for antiques & collectibles dealers.
While security and investigative services are still
part of the Montero portfolio, his interests and resources continue to expand.
